KPV reconstitution calculator
Concentration, draw volume and U-100 units for 5 and 10 mg KPV vials.
KPV is the tripeptide lysine-proline-valine, the last three amino acids of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. Research-labelled vials are usually 5 or 10 mg, and the amounts described in community sources are in the hundreds of micrograms, so the reading on the syringe is small and moves a lot with the water added.
The calculator returns the concentration, the volume in mL, the U-100 reading and the number of amounts per vial for any vial size, water volume and amount. KPV is also sold in capsules, which are labelled per capsule and are outside the scope of this page.

Results are arithmetic from the three numbers entered. U-100 scale: 100 units = 1 mL. Presets are figures reported in published and community sources, offered as shortcuts, not recommendations. The vial label is the number to trust.
Setups entered by researchers
Not enough KPV calculations have been logged yet to publish a breakdown. A peptide's setups appear here once it passes 100 calculations and a setup has been entered at least 30 times. How the setup data works.

How the KPV numbers are worked out
Concentration is the vial mass divided by the water: 10 mg in 2 mL is 5,000 mcg/mL, and 5 mg in 2 mL is 2,500 mcg/mL.
Volume is the amount divided by the concentration, and a U-100 syringe reads 100 units per mL. 500 mcg from a 10 mg vial at 2 mL is 10 units (0.1 mL); from a 5 mg vial at 2 mL it is 20 units (0.2 mL).
Halving the water doubles the concentration and halves the reading for the same amount, which is why small amounts are easier to read with more water in the vial.
Background on the peptide, research summaries and vendor comparisons are covered in a KPV research overview.
KPV calculator questions
How many units is 500 mcg of KPV from a 10 mg vial?
With 2 mL of water the vial is 5,000 mcg/mL, so 500 mcg is 10 units (0.1 mL). With 1 mL it is 5 units (0.05 mL). The vial holds 20 amounts of 500 mcg.
How many units is 500 mcg from a 5 mg KPV vial?
With 2 mL, 20 units (0.2 mL). With 1 mL, 10 units (0.1 mL). With 3 mL, 30 units (0.3 mL).
How many amounts does a KPV vial hold?
Divide the vial mass by the amount. A 5 mg vial holds 10 amounts of 500 mcg; a 10 mg vial holds 20 of 500 mcg or 10 of 1 mg. The water volume does not change the count.
Is this calculator for KPV capsules?
No. Capsules are labelled by mass per capsule and are not reconstituted, so there is nothing to convert. This page covers lyophilized vials that have a liquid added.
Is the KPV in a KLOW vial calculated the same way?
The arithmetic is the same, but in a blend KPV is only part of the vial's mass. In an 80 mg KLOW vial KPV is 10 mg, one eighth of the total, so each blend amount holds one eighth of its mass as KPV. The KLOW calculator on this site shows that split.
What KPV amounts do community sources report?
Community sources most often describe 500 mcg, with 1 mg appearing less often. Published human data on KPV are limited. The presets reflect those community-reported figures; they are not a recommendation.
