Semax vial calculator
Concentration, draw volume and U-100 units for Semax vials from 5 to 30 mg.
Semax is a synthetic seven-amino-acid peptide: the 4-7 sequence of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) followed by a proline-glycine-proline tail added for stability, as an analogue of the longer ACTH 4-10 fragment. Like Selank it was developed in Russia, where it is registered as nasal drops; it is not approved by the FDA. Lyophilized research vials are commonly 5, 10, 20 or 30 mg.
The calculator converts a vial size, a water volume and an amount into the concentration, the volume in mL, the U-100 reading and the number of amounts per vial. Ready-made drops and sprays are labelled by concentration and are not reconstituted, so they are outside the scope of this page.

Results are arithmetic from the three numbers entered. U-100 scale: 100 units = 1 mL. Presets are figures reported in published and community sources, offered as shortcuts, not recommendations. The vial label is the number to trust.
Setups entered by researchers
Not enough Semax calculations have been logged yet to publish a breakdown. A peptide's setups appear here once it passes 100 calculations and a setup has been entered at least 30 times. How the setup data works.

How the Semax numbers are worked out
Concentration is the vial mass divided by the water: 10 mg in 2 mL is 5,000 mcg/mL; 30 mg in 3 mL is 10,000 mcg/mL.
Volume is the amount divided by the concentration; a U-100 syringe reads 100 units per mL. 500 mcg from a 10 mg vial at 2 mL is 10 units (0.1 mL); 300 mcg is 6 units (0.06 mL).
Larger vials reconstituted with similar water volumes are more concentrated, so a few hundred micrograms can be only a few units. More water makes those readings easier to see on the scale.
Research background and vendor comparisons for Semax are covered in a Semax research overview.
Semax calculator questions
How many units is 500 mcg of Semax from a 10 mg vial?
With 2 mL of water the vial is 5,000 mcg/mL, so 500 mcg is 10 units (0.1 mL). With 3 mL it is 15 units (0.15 mL). The vial holds 20 amounts of 500 mcg.
How many units is 300 mcg of Semax?
From a 10 mg vial with 2 mL, 6 units (0.06 mL). From a 5 mg vial with 2 mL, 12 units (0.12 mL). From a 30 mg vial with 3 mL, 3 units (0.03 mL).
How many units is 1 mg from a 20 or 30 mg Semax vial?
20 mg with 2 mL and 30 mg with 3 mL are both 10.00 mg/mL, so 1 mg is 10 units (0.1 mL) from either. With 5 mL, a 30 mg vial gives 16.67 units (0.1667 mL).
Does this calculator work for Semax nasal drops?
No. Drops are labelled by concentration (0.1%, for example, is 1 mg per mL) and measured by the drop, so a syringe reading does not apply. This page covers lyophilized vials only.
Is N-acetyl Semax calculated the same way?
The arithmetic is identical: vial mass divided by water gives the concentration. Modified versions such as N-acetyl Semax amidate are separate compounds, though, so the presets on this page do not necessarily apply to them.
What Semax amounts do community sources report?
Community reports of vial-based use describe amounts from about 300 mcg to 1 mg. Russian clinical studies mostly used the nasal route in short daily courses. The presets reflect the community figures and are not a recommendation.
