Melanotan II reconstitution calculator
Concentration, draw volume and U-100 units for 5 and 10 mg Melanotan II vials.
Melanotan II is a synthetic cyclic peptide modelled on alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone, and it binds several of the melanocortin receptors. Research-labelled vials are usually 10 mg, with 5 mg vials also sold. The amounts described in community sources are in the low hundreds of micrograms, so at a few mL of water the syringe reading is only a few units.
The calculator converts a vial size, a water volume and an amount into the concentration, the volume in mL, the U-100 reading and the number of amounts the vial holds. The chart below compares the water volumes that appear most often.

Results are arithmetic from the three numbers entered. U-100 scale: 100 units = 1 mL. Presets are figures reported in published and community sources, offered as shortcuts, not recommendations. The vial label is the number to trust.
Setups entered by researchers
Not enough Melanotan II calculations have been logged yet to publish a breakdown. A peptide's setups appear here once it passes 100 calculations and a setup has been entered at least 30 times. How the setup data works.

How the Melanotan II numbers are worked out
Concentration is the vial mass divided by the water: 10 mg in 2 mL is 5,000 mcg/mL, and 10 mg in 4 mL is 2,500 mcg/mL.
Volume is the amount divided by the concentration; a U-100 syringe reads 100 units per mL. 250 mcg from a 10 mg vial at 2 mL is 5 units (0.05 mL).
At these concentrations a 100 mcg amount is only 1 unit (0.01 mL) with 1 mL of water. More water spreads the same amount over more units, which makes the scale easier to read.

Melanotan II calculator questions
How many units is 250 mcg of Melanotan II from a 10 mg vial?
With 2 mL of water the vial is 5,000 mcg/mL, so 250 mcg is 5 units (0.05 mL). With 1 mL it is 2.5 units (0.025 mL), and with 4 mL 10 units (0.1 mL).
How many units is 500 mcg of Melanotan II?
From a 10 mg vial with 2 mL, 10 units (0.1 mL). From a 5 mg vial with 2 mL, 20 units (0.2 mL). From a 5 mg vial with 1 mL, 10 units (0.1 mL).
How many amounts does a 10 mg Melanotan II vial hold?
100 amounts of 100 mcg, 40 of 250 mcg or 20 of 500 mcg. The water volume does not change the count, only the volume of each amount.
Why is the Melanotan II reading so small?
A 10 mg vial in 1 or 2 mL is 5 to 10 mg per mL, so a 100 to 250 mcg amount is a few hundredths of a mL. With 4 mL the concentration falls to 2,500 mcg/mL and 100 mcg reads 4 units (0.04 mL).
Is Melanotan II the same as PT-141?
No. PT-141 (bremelanotide) is a closely related compound derived from Melanotan II, and Melanotan I is a separate, linear analogue of the same hormone. Each is sold under its own label with its own vial sizes, and PT-141 has its own calculator on this site.
What Melanotan II amounts do community sources report?
Community sources describe amounts from about 100 mcg to 500 mcg, with 250 and 500 mcg appearing most often. Published controlled human data are limited. The presets reflect those reports to save typing; they are not a recommendation.
